New Job

Well as the summer draws to a close, new things are happening in my life. I am starting a new job on the first of September and I have to admit I am a bit nervous. I will continue to do my crafting that is my source of relaxation and actually I am addicted to crafting.

I would like to get some things done around the house this year, the kitchen, hall and my bedroom are in need of painting. Actually all the rooms are in need of painting but those are really in desperate need of paint. A new job brings opportunity to get things done at home, if you can find the time.

I do have a “honey do list”, unfortunately I am the honey that will have to do.

Love Hate Realationship

I am enjoying the rest of the summer, the rain has stopped and I have been going in the pool. I have a love hate relationship with this time of the year I hate to see summer end and I would love it to go on just a bit longer.

I also was able to get some things accomplished this week; I posted new items in both
Etsy and Artfire. If only there was a few more hours left in a day and the energy to deal with it.

A Unique Kind Of Shopping

I am getting ready make some handmade items that I give as gifts for the holidays. What I can’t make I buy, I love shopping the internet for that unique gift that makes a statement that shows you really care.

I love to shop handmade items as much as I like receiving them, I have purchased soaps, jewelry, yes even though I make my own I can appreciate the artists style and design knowing the work her hands put into it makes it even all the more special.

I also purchase many of the materials that I use in my designs from the supplies that I find in some of the shops. Very often I
can find things that other artisans made like glass beads, pendants or clasps that I can incorporate into my own design.

I can’t think of anything you can’t find, on these sites, also each artisan has their own store set up so your contact is with the individual who has made the merchandise you are viewing.
Take a look for yourself you can find unique gifts and much more on Artfire./

Nature's Colors

Nature has a way of protecting its own, something can be right in front of you and you don’t see it. Like the walking stick (praying mantis) looks like a piece of wood. While I was taking pictures of scenery I happen across a creature that I have seen before, but I almost didn’t see it here.

Can you see it look closely…

Yes it is a spider, I have seen this type of spider in several different places, but here I almost didn’t see him in such a natural surrounding for this colorful creature. Oh, did I mention I am petrified of spiders.
